Welcome

SC-C.A.R.E.S. is a Wildlife Rescue & Rehab Center, Educational Animal Sanctuary, Environmental Center and a 501(c)3 non-profit public supported charity located in the Georgetown area of South Carolina. Click here to verify our Non-Profit status.

We provide a compassionate "no-kill/no-breed" sanctuary for abused, neglected and unwanted exotic and farm animals and non-releasable wildlife. A safe caring place in which they can live out their days in a healthy, natural environment with a good quality of life.

We rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wildlife. Wildlife that cannot be released may become goodwill ambassadors for their species by participating in educational programs.

We will develop and implement educational outreach programs for schools, universities, and other civic groups. Programs will teach the interdependency between animals, humans and the environment, accenting the impact of human activities on all the other creatures we share our planet with.

We plan to build a world-class nature and environmental education center.

We provide compassionate people the opportunity of volunteer
participation.

Volunteers help the animals by providing
interaction and companionship in the
course of supplying necessary services
to the sanctuary.

SC CARES is PERMANENTLY CLOSED
Tuesday, December 31, 2019 • Time:
SC-CARES has been helping animals for over 13 years here in SC and for many years before moving to SC. It was an accumulation of circumstances, a perfect storm, that is forcing us to close. Considering Skips serious health issues (multiple myeloma cancer), our physical and emotional stress, fluctuating financial and vet support, we couldnt see a light at the end of this tunnel. We did not see a way for the sanctuary to continue in the event one or both of us encountered a crisis. We decide for the animals sake we needed to get ahead of things, before their lives are impacted from any sort of crisis situation.
